The Sign Maintenance Shop is located in the West District yard. It is manned by a two-man road crew and a Foreman, Chris Ambrose.
These members of the Road Commission team are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the more than 6,200 signs currently in place along the roadsides of Bay County. Sign Shop personnel also fabricate many specialty signs and have numerous other duties throughout the county including guardrail repair and installation, road closure and construction zone signing, and pavement marking symbol installation. Many of these same tasks are also performed on interstate highways and state trunklines in Bay County as part of our responsibilities under the maintenance contract the Road Commission has with the Department of Transportation.
